Collaborative Clinical Trial Implementation for Insomnia
As the Clinical Trials-In-Country Caretaker of an insomnia development program, IDA took a unique approach to implementing Phase II-III trials in the area of sleep which involved the following steps:
- Extensive and creative collaboration with Key Opinion Leaders
IDA has collaborated closely with leading Japanese sleep researchers to create the Sleep Trials Support Network (STSN) which has recently been established as a not-for-profit organization. STSN is involved in (1) researching and identifying best practices and establishing optimal guidelines for clinical research; (2) conducting outreach to promote better awareness of sleep disorders among the Japanese population; and (3) sponsoring screening programs, epidemiological studies, and translational research in the area of sleep.

- IDA Disease-specific Trial Implementation System for Insomnia
In collaboration with STSN, IDA has created a unique system that dramatically improves the efficiency of clinical trials in the area of insomnia. Through building a network that tapped unrealized synergies between sleep experts, clinicians, and trial sponsors, IDA and STSN were able to build a trial implementation system that not only allows for the more rapid and efficient implementation of PSG clinical trials but also contributes to the advancement of sleep medicine in Japan.
